Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
Just like bread (food) supports life to your body, the Word of God supports life to your soul. Your body can’t go too long without nourishment and without food for prolonged periods your body becomes weak. It’s the same for your soul, without regular nourishment your soul too will become weak. You don’t just eat on Sunday, why would you only feed your soul one day out of the week? Nourish your soul by reading the Word of God daily.
Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Navigating this world is no easy task. But the more we know God’s Word, the more we can apply it to our lives. The more we apply it to our lives, the clearer the path becomes. Sometimes it may feel like we are lost or walking in the dark but God’s Word is here to guide us and to show us the way we should go. Let God guide you through this world with his Word.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
A soul on fire is a heart that has moved from knowing who God is to having a personal relationship with God. It is passionate about sharing the Word of God and the love of God with hurting people. Be sure to keep your flame fanned by using the gifts God has given you to help bring salvation and hope to the lost.
