“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.
Honestly, this lesson is hard for many to learn. You may be determined to demand your rights as a citizen of this country but it’s not always what’s best for you as a Christian. Just because you have the right to do something doesn’t necessarily mean it’s right for you. Knowing the difference between your rights and what is right for you comes with spiritual maturity.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds.
Let your love for God and your gratitude for His mercy and goodness inspire you to share His love with others. Let’s motivate each other and encourage acts of love and service for those in need so that our heavenly Father may be glorified. We need to do something, help somebody, invite someone because if we don’t then who will?
Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
Seek God with all your heart, really get to know and trust him. This is not just a Sunday event. We need to stay in his gracious presence every day. Hold on to him for dear life in the shadow of his almighty power and protection. Don’t worry, if you stumble, he’ll be there to catch you.
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Let’s make an effort to encourage the people around us, especially our spouse and our children. Kindness doesn’t cost a thing yet it’s so valuable. Let’s build each other up with loving and kind words that promote hope and courage. A kind word can change someone’s entire day.
And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.
If your first thought of the day is “God loves me” it will change the way you react to things that happen throughout your day. No matter what happens tell yourself, “It’s going to be okay, God loves me”. You can rely on God’s love for you and His strength will get you through the most difficult days if only you would trust in His love for you.
Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
We all have days when we wake up feeling like we just can’t face the day. Don’t let that overwhelming feeling discourage you. Take a deep breath, remind yourself that you are a daughter of the King and straighten your crown. Come boldly to the throne of God to lay your burdens at his feet and receive His mercy for today.
Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise
Live your life conscientious and on purpose. Jesus is your example of how to live a righteous and honorable life. Be diligent and wise in the choices you make always keeping your eyes on the Lord. Ask God to give you wisdom and He will gladly give it to you.
