My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.
It’s not always about the words we use when we try to tell people about Jesus that matters. It’s often about the way we live for God that makes the most difference. Sometimes actions do speak louder than words. Whether you know it or not, people are watching you and they see the changes in you that only Christ can make.
For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Forgiveness is a key element when you come to God in prayer, not only God forgiving you but you forgiving others. When you hold on to blame in your heart it creates an environment of bitterness and an unforgiving spirit will block your spiritual progress. Sometimes you have to forgive others for your own peace of mind and sometimes you just have to forgive yourself.
May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.
I want my words and thoughts to be pleasing to God in all circumstances. Not only when I pray or think about godly things but also in my everyday conversations and thoughts. I want to fill my mind and heart with positivity so there will be no room for negativity.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Do you ever feel so tired, you just don’t have the energy or motivation to do anything and so you do the least amount possible just to get by? Are you mentally, emotionally, and physically wiped out? God will give you rest; he will refresh your spirit if you come to him and lay your burdens at his feet.
Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
Just like a soldier going into battle we too must put on our full armor. God has equipped us with all we need to stand up to the devil’s plans. The first thing we must do is to recognize that we already have the victory through Jesus Christ.
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
It doesn’t matter what kind of temptation comes knocking at your door you can only get so far with willpower. You may be able to fight temptation yourself for a little while but willpower alone will not be enough. Instead of trusting your willpower turn to God and trust in his power.
