Do not offer any part of yourself to sin as an instrument of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer every part of yourself to him as an instrument of righteousness.
If you are born again, you have a new identity in Christ and you are no longer a slave to sin. Because you’ve been set free you can now offer your whole self, both body and soul to God to be used for His purpose. Devote yourself to God and to His service for His purpose.
If we confess our sin, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
Unconfessed sin can be a stumbling block that keeps us from getting closer to God. The Bible says, The Lord is far from the wicked but He hears the prayers of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29) When you pray, confess your sins to God and because He is merciful, He will forgive you. Don’t let your unconfessed sin destroy your fellowship with God.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
We have been set free from sin through Jesus Christ yet many still live with the shame and guilt of their past. If you are born again you are a new creation with a new way of thinking. You have been given a second chance to be who God created you to be. Don’t go back to the sin God has already freed you from.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—
Salvation is a gift from God. We cannot buy it, earn it, work for it or get it based on our own abilities. Through the plan of God to save us, Jesus paid for this gift when He died on the cross for our sins. Everything you have, everything you are, and everything you do is all because of God’s grace on you.
So whoever knows the right thing to do and fails to do it, for him it is sin.
Doing the right thing isn’t always easy, in fact it may be downright hard. If you know the right thing to do and you don’t do it, eventually, it will catch up to you one way or another and it will only make things worse. Admit your mistakes, learn from them, and strive to always do the right thing.
If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and has heard my voice in prayer.
We all fall short of the glory of God. We are not perfect but what we do when we fail God makes all the difference. Put aside your pride and acknowledge your sin and turn from it. Don’t let sin come between you and God. Don’t let sin destroy your fellowship with Him. Humble yourself before the Lord and confess your sins, ask for forgiveness, and he will hear your prayers.
