Verse of the Day:  Luke 5:20

And when he saw their faith, he said “Man your sins are forgiven you.”

If you read the story of the man who was paralyzed and whose friends lifted him to the roof and lowered him down so Jesus could heal him, you’ll see that the man wasn’t healed because of his own faith, but because of the faith of his friends.

You may know someone who is going through something so difficult it is beginning to weaken their faith in God.  You might not know what you can do to help.  That’s where your faith comes in to play.  You need to be the bridge to God by praying and interceding for your family and friends.

Pray from Your Heart

1 matthew 6 10

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 6:10

Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Prayer doesn’t have to be full of big, fancy words.  Don’t be intimidated by long, loud, eloquent prayers.  Pray from your heart, have a conversation with God, and pray knowing and believing that he hears you.  If you don’t know how or what to pray, pray for God’s will to be done in your life. God will take it from there.

1 psalms 100 2

Psalms 100:2

Verse of the Day:   Psalms 100:2

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.

God is good and giving him grateful praise through songs is a beautiful way to worship him during your prayer time and it also refreshes your soul.  It doesn’t matter how well you sing; what matters is that it comes from your heart.

2 Timothy 3:16

Verse of the Day:   2 Timothy 3:16

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

Reading the Bible as part of your prayer may lead to enlightenment.  God speaks to us in many ways including his written Word.   God may open your eyes to something new when a passage you’ve read before suddenly becomes clear and impacts you like never before.

1 samuel 3 10

1 Samuel 3:10

Verse of the Day:   1 Samuel 3:10

The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, “Samuel! Samuel!”

Then Samuel said, “Speak, for your servant is listening.”

Prayer is not only about us talking to God, we must also listen for God to speak to us.  We may not hear an audible voice like Samuel did but if we listen with our heart we will become sensitive to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  Spend time with God simply being still, listen with your heart, and learn to recognize his voice.

1 timothy 2 1

1 Timothy 2:1

Verse of the Day:   1 Timothy 2:1

I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people-

Intercession is prayer said on behalf of and for other people.  God wants all people to be saved so we should be praying for everyone we know and even those we don’t know.  We can pray for their salvation, needs, and health because when we pray for others God’s love works through us for them.  If you’re not doing it already, start praying for others daily.

James 4:2

Verse of the Day:   James 4:2

You do not have because you do not ask God.

If you need something you should go directly to the source.  Take it to God in prayer, be bold and confident with your personal petitions, with the right motives, and be persistent.  If your prayers are not answered immediately keep praying, keep asking, and keep believing.
