Pray for Others

Verse of the Day:        Ephesians 3:16-18

I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ.

 

Like Paul prayed for the believers in Ephesus, we need to pray for our friends and family, our enemies, and the world.  We need to pray that they would invite Jesus into their lives so they may experience His infinite love first hand and have a personal relationship with Him.  We also need to pray that they would come to truly know Him, His grace, glory and how much He really loves them.

God is Greater

Verse of the Day:  1 John 4:4

You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.

 

We have been chosen and adopted by God as His own children.  His unshakable power lives in us and His Word is written on our hearts as we experience His truth. We have the victory over evil through Christ Jesus by faith.

Brag About Jesus

Verse of the Day:   Jeremiah 9:23-24

This is what the Lord says: “Let not the wise boast of their wisdom or the strong boast of their strength or the rich boast of their riches, but let the one who boasts boast about this: that they have the understanding to know me, that I am the Lord, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the Lord.

 

Your true wisdom and value is not found in your own understanding, power, or riches.  It is found in knowing God and in salvation.  I cannot boast about anything I have but I can boast about knowing the Lord. I can boast about His kindness, justice, and righteousness. Everything I have and everything I am is because of Him and because of His unfailing love and mercy.  If you’re going to brag about something, brag about Jesus.

God’s Grace

Verse of the Day:   2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

 

God’s grace, favor, loving-kindness and mercy helps you to make it through anything.  His strength and power shows itself the most when you need Him the most.  When you are weak you need to depend on God more and the more you depend on God, the more strength He will give you to make it through anything.  The world we live in has changed drastically but God never will.  He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Set Free

Verse of the Day:  John 8:32

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

 

Christ has the power to make you free and those that are set free by the Son are truly free.  If you accept his teaching as truth and also obey his teaching you are true disciples.  You will know the truth because your eyes will open to a greater understanding of the truth which will set you free from the bondage of sin.

Christ Completes Me

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 3:19

May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully.  Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

 

We were created with a longing for Christ.  We unsuccessfully try to fill this emptiness with people, things, and projects.  But the truth is, only Jesus can satisfy your soul. only Jesus can make you whole.  It’s not enough just to know who he is, you need to personally experience the love of Christ in your life.

Verse of the Day:  1 Corinthians 2:4

My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.

 

It’s not always about the words we use when we try to tell people about Jesus that matters.  It’s often about the way we live for God that makes the most difference.  Sometimes actions do speak louder than words.  Whether you know it or not, people are watching you and they see the changes in you that only Christ can make.
