10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 9:  Thankful for Everything

Ephesians 5 20.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Ephesians 5:20

always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I am truly thankful for everything God has done for me and the plans He has for my future.  I am thankful for everything He has blessed me with, it’s more than I deserve. I’m thankful for my salvation and for the relationship I have with my Savior.  Above all else, I’m thankful for God’s love, mercy, grace and forgiveness. I give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart.

10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 1: Thankful for All of God’s Wonderful Deeds

Psalm 9 1.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 9:1

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Thanksgiving Day is quickly approaching and I thought it would be nice to share some of the things I am thankful for.  I am thankful for my relationship with the Lord and for His amazing grace.  Because of His mercy and forgiveness, I am no longer the same. My heart is filled with gratitude and praise for all the things He has done and continues to do in my life.  He has renewed my spirit and because of this I want to share His wonderful deeds and goodness with the world.

The Golden Rule

Matthew 7 12.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 7:12

So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

People think the “Golden Rule” was made up by man, but it’s actually Biblical. It’s so basic and fundamental that we teach it to our children yet, we as adults sometimes forget the principle.  Treat others with fairness and mercy just as you would like to be treated.

Knowing and Trusting God

Psalm 9 10

Verse of the Day: Psalm 9:10

And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.

The only way to know God is to seek Him with all of your heart.  Spend time with Him in prayer, read the Holy Bible, really make an effort to understand who He is.   The more you seek God in faith, the more you will come to know Him. The more you know Him, the more you will trust Him.  When you experience God’s love, grace and mercy for yourself you will come to completely trust in Him and realize that He is always there for you.

Love Your Enemies

Love Your Enemies

Verse of the Day:   Luke 6:35

But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back.  Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, because He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

God commands us to love our enemies, even the ungrateful and wicked.  For some this may be harder than others, but if we are grounded in God’s love and mercy, we can move past our human nature and into the spiritual characteristic of being Christlike.    Our heavenly Father has shown us great mercy and expects us to be kind to those who are ungrateful and wicked, not because they deserve it, but because we are striving to live a life that pleases God.

God’s Grace

Verse of the Day:   2 Corinthians 12:9

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.
God’s grace, favor, loving-kindness and mercy helps you to make it through anything.  His strength and power shows itself the most when you need Him the most.  When you are weak, depend on God more because the more you depend on God, the more strength He will give you to make it through anything.  The world we live in has changed drastically but God never will.  He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow.

Speak Up

Verse of the Day: Proverbs 31:8

Speak up for people who cannot speak for themselves. Protect the rights of all who are helpless. (GNT)

Speak up for the people who have no voice. Stand up for the oppressed. It is our duty to help those who cannot help themselves. We need to go out into the world and donate our time, money and resources for the poor, needy and suffering. We need to bring Jesus into the lives of others so they too may know the mercy, forgiveness, and love of God.
