Feeding the Homeless

Matthew 25 35

Verse of the Day:  Matthew 25:35

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in.

By showing compassion and kindness to those in need you’re sharing God’s love and mercy.  Let everything you do be done as if you are doing it for the Lord. Let God work through you to fill the needs of His people. Don’t wait for someone else to do what God has called you to do.

Generous and Compassionate

Proverbs 22 9.jpg

Verse of the Day:  Proverbs 22:9

The generous will themselves be blessed, for they share their food with the poor.

God is generous with us and He expects us to be generous with others as well. We serve a compassionate God and this creates a compassionate heart in us. The awesome thing is that when we give to others from our heart God blesses us even more.  We can never out give God.

Faith Inspires Action

James 2 14.jpg

Verse of the Day:  James 2:14

What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but has no deeds?

Faith is a verb; it requires action on your part. Faith in God prompts you to do something, it moves you to share the love of God not only by word but also by deed with those in need. (for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Philippians 2:13)

Let God Work Through You

2 Corinthians 8 5 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 8:5

And they exceeded our expectations: They gave themselves first of all to the Lord, and then by the will of God also to us.

Be so full of God’s love and joy that it spills over into the lives of those who also need Him. Give yourself fully to God and allow Him to use you for His purpose, let Him work through you to help others.

Silencing Ignorant Talk

1 Peter 2 15 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:  1 Peter 2:15

For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.

The best way to put a stop to critics and negative people is to do good and live a virtuous and godly life. Be a good example of what it means to love the Lord and do good so that those who don’t know God will have nothing bad to say about you.

Love Your Enemies

Luke 6 27-28 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:        Luke 6:27-28

But to you who are listening I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.

The devil loves it when he can get you to react like the world, when he can get you to lose control and become angry.  It’s not easy to turn the other cheek when someone offends you but Jesus didn’t say it would be easy, he said, “Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you”.  Let the love of God rule your life.

You Can Face Tomorrow

2 Chronicles 20 17 (2).jpg

Verse of the Day:  2 Chronicles 20:17

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the LORD will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the LORD will be with you.

God knows the battles you face each day.  You are not alone.  If you want deliverance you need to give it all to God.  You don’t have to be afraid, you don’t have to be discouraged, but you do have to stand firm in your faith.  You can face tomorrow because the Lord is with you.
