All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness
Reading the Bible as part of your prayer can lead to enlightenment. God speaks to us in many ways including His written Word. He may open your eyes to something new when a passage you’ve read before suddenly becomes clear and impacts you like never before.
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Faith is believing in and completely trusting in the one true God, His Word and His promises. It is the foundation and firm belief in the power, faithfulness and love of God. Faith is what helps us get through life knowing that by accepting Jesus Christ as our Savior and by the power of the resurrection someday we will be in heaven with God for all eternity.
For the word of the Lord is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.
Every word, every promise, everything He does is right and true. We can have confidence and believe it all because He is faithful. God is good and never changes, we can rely on this truth. He is deserving of all praise for His truth, faithfulness and mercy.
He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction.
God’s Word will heal whatever is hurting and destroying you, but you have to receive it. You have to let it penetrate your heart, meditate on it, hear it, read it, study it, memorize it and it will begin to fix whatever is broken in you.
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.
We live in an ever changing world and change is inevitable for better or worse. There is a saying some people think comes from the Bible but it doesn’t: “This too shall pass”. I’m sure it has helped some people get through tough times, but there is something even better, something you can always count on, the never changing Word of God. It was true yesterday, it’s true today and it will be true forever.
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
When I wake up each morning two things cross my mind, God’s Word and coffee. I’ve made it a habit to start my day with both and have come to depend on them to get me through the day. If you want a closer relationship with God get into the habit of reading the Bible daily. All you need is a little bit of coffee and a whole lot of Jesus.
