Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
As we celebrate and enjoy our freedom this Memorial Day let’s take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of the holiday as we remember those who died in active military service. Let’s honor these heroes by praying for each other and our country.
Do not make friends with a hot-tempered person, do not associate with one easily angered, or you may learn their ways and get yourself ensnared.
It’s clear that our friendships can have an influence on us, either for good or bad. It’s important to choose the people who are close to us wisely. Choose Godly friends that will be a positive influence in your life instead of people who can’t control their anger with whom you may eventually find yourself in a bad situation. A bad temper is contagious.
He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.
Choose wisely the people with whom you surround yourself, especially, your inner circle. Whether we like it or not, we are influenced by those closest to us. Be determined to surround yourself with those who bring out the best in you, who inspire you and most importantly, who love the Lord.
But you, O Lord, are a shield about me, my glory, and the lifter of my head.
Thanksgiving Day is over and not everyone has or was able to spend time with family and friends. For some, the holidays can be lonely and even a sad time. I sometimes feel it too. I miss loved ones that have passed and those who can’t be near me. But we are not alone, God is with us in every moment of every day. If we focus on the Lord, his goodness, and our blessings He will get us through it.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
I want to wish you all a happy and blessed Thanksgiving! Over the past few days I’ve shared with you some of the things I’m thankful for but there are so many I would never be able to express them all. As we give thanks to our Lord on this day let’s remember that He is good all the time and we should be thankful every day of the year. May God bless you today and always.
Today I’m thankful I’m able to spend time with my wonderful husband, family and friends who are such a blessing to my life. What are you thankful for?
We ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love all of you have for one another is increasing.
I am thankful for the love of family and friends. I’m grateful to have such wonderful people as part of my journey. Each person God has put in my life adds something unique and special to it and I love and appreciate them all. I’m thankful for the love we share between us, for the experiences we go through together and for the memories that will be in my heart forever. As I thank God for you I pray that He would continue to bless and protect you always.
I urge you first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them, intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them.
Take time to pray for your family, your friends, your co-workers, your neighbors and while you’re at it, pray for your enemies as well. We don’t always know what they are going through but one thing is for sure, they can always use our prayers.
