10 Days of Thanksgiving – Day 6: Thankful for Spiritual Freedom

1 11-19 1 Psalms 100 4

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 100:4

Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

I am thankful for the freedom to be able to enter into the house of the Lord to praise and worship my Lord and Savior.  Yes, we have a constitutionally protected right to religious freedom and that’s great, but I’m talking about the spiritual freedom we received when Jesus died on the cross and paid the price for our sins.  I’m talking about abiding in God’s truth which has set us free from a life of sin and death.  Because of God’s love and mercy, we can have a relationship with Him, we can come into His presence to praise and worship Him and for that I am thankful.

Happy Veterans Day!

1 11-11 1 Galatians 5 13

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 5:13

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.

To all Veterans who have served our great nation in the United States Armed Forces:  We thank you, honor you and respect you for all you have sacrificed for our freedom.  May God bless you always.

2 Corinthians 3:17

Verse of the Day:  2 Corinthians 3:17

Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.

When God is present in our lives we are freed from the chains that bind us.  There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain that tries to hold us back from worshiping God.

Galatians 5:1

Verse of the Day:  Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.  Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

We have been set free from sin through Jesus Christ yet many still live with the shame and guilt of their past.  If you are born again you are a new creation with a new way of thinking.  You have been given a second chance to be who God created you to be.  Don’t go back to whatever sin God has already freed you from.
