But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
I am a witness to the changes God has made in my life. I am no longer the same and now through the power of the Holy Spirit I am a witness to God’s message of love and forgiveness. You too are a witness and can share what the Lord has done for you.
But Samuel replied: “Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed is better than the fat of rams.
Worship is not just what you do in church on Sunday, it’s more than that it’s how you live your life every day. True worship is being obedient to God and His Word. It’s not just reading your Bible it’s applying what it says to your life. A true heart of worship is rooted in obedience and is pleasing to the Lord.
But the wisdom that comes from heaven is pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Spiritual wisdom comes from God and it gives you the ability to live a life that is obedient to Him no matter what trials you face. Consistently seek God’s wisdom by reading the Bible and through prayer and you will begin to see the changes in yourself and in your life.
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
The Bible, which is the Word of God, isn’t some old irrelevant book of stories. It is alive and active today and forever more. If you begin to read God’s word, I promise, it will begin to change your life. Whatever you are going through the answer is in God’s word.
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
We have a choice in how we handle any situation and we have a choice in what comes out of our mouth. We can choose gentle words that turn away anger or harsh words that stir up anger. It may not always be easy but with the help of the Lord we can make the right choice.
My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power.
It’s not always about the words we use when we try to tell people about Jesus that matters. It’s often about the way we live for God that makes the most difference. Sometimes actions do speak louder than words. Whether you know it or not, people are watching you and they see the changes in you that only Christ can make.
