For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Spiritual death and separation from God is the price we pay for sin. But because of God’s love for humanity He sent His only Son to pay the price that set us free. Eternal life is given by the grace of God through faith in Jesus, not by our own efforts or works so that no one will ever be able to boast that he earned or deserved eternal life, it is a free gift of God.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
God loved each one of us so much He gave the greatest gift ever, His only Son, Jesus Christ. God gave us His Son, and the Son gave His life for us. This was all part of the plan of salvation so we could receive forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life. Because of God’s grace and mercy, the gift of salvation is available to all through Christ.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.
God is good and every gift from him is good and perfect. Think about all good in your life, your job, your home, your family, and know it’s all a gift from God. Think about the spiritual gifts you’ve been given, they too are a gift from God. Now think about the greatest gift of all, the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, they all come from our heavenly Father. As we go through this holiday season let’s not forget what it’s really about and remember to be grateful for all the gifts from above.
So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give good gifts to those who ask him. (NLT)
Doesn’t it make you feel wonderful to know you have given your children what they’ve asked for on their Christmas list? Now, think about how much more your heavenly Father also wants to give you good gifts. God loves you and it makes Him happy to bless you with the desires of your heart. God already knows what you need before you ask, if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
God has given us more than we could ever deserve and we should follow his example of giving. When we give to the weak we are spreading God’s love and hope into the hearts of those who receive the gift. When you give in a right spirit it truly is an act of worship and pleases the Lord. Let’s not forget that God gives to us so that we may be generous to others. This Christmas lets focus on giving rather than receiving.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Spread the love of Christ with your fellow man this Christmas. There are a couple of weeks left until Christmas so you still have time to make a donation to a worthy cause that helps the needy. Follow your heart and remember that the Lord has blessed you so you can bless others. Whether it’s big or small make a donation to your favorite charity, every bit helps and makes a difference in the lives of others.
“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
Practice acts of kindness and charity not because of who they are but because of who you are, a child of God. Share God’s goodness with those in need. Do what you can as often as you can for as many as you can.
