Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 2:21
If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work
How much do you think you’re worth? I’m not talking about your net worth; I’m talking about your self-worth. Don’t ever confuse your valuables with your value as a person. You can be rich or poor, but it has nothing to do with your value as a person. Rahab’s story in Joshua 2 is a powerful example of faith and redemption. If you want to be used by God, you need to purify your heart.
You don’t have to be a perfect person, but you do have to have a pure heart.
The Bible says in 2 Timothy 2:21, “If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work” (NLT, second edition).
God uses all kinds of people. He uses shy people. He uses outgoing people. He uses all different races, ages, stages of life, and backgrounds. He uses men and women. God will use plain vessels, and he’ll use ornate vessels. He’ll use big vessels and small vessels. But there is one thing that God will not use: He will not use a dirty vessel. You have to be clean on the inside.
By all accounts Rahab would not be that person we would think to be used. She had three strikes against her:
-she was a Female.
-she was a Prostitute
-she was a Gentile
We are put on this earth to make a difference, to make a contribution. Rahab is the POSTER child of God’s GRACE!
Jesus is thirty-one generations removed from Rahab. But the Bible mentions her name three times in the New Testament (James 2:25; Hebrews 11:31; and Matthew 1:5) Right there in Jesus Christ genealogy- right there in the list of Jesus ancestors, we unexpectedly find Rahab’s name.
Talk about are you valuable to God or WHAT! C’mon somebody!!! We have been REDEEMED! You are valuable to God!!!
All of God’s Best,
